|Wireless Line of Sight|
What is Line of Sight (LoS) and how does it affect Wireless Internet?
LoS refers to the direct path that radio waves travel from our broadcasting towers to your location. Depending on the frequency we use for your connection, the wireless waves can have little to no interference in their path such as trees, buildings, etc. These obstructions cause the signal to be diffracted, refracted, reflected, or absorbed and the technician that surveys your location will look for these things to certify your service is the best we have to offer.
First we come out for a site survey where we record important details about your location and what towers you have the best line of site to. We then return to the office and use a software that shows us what lies between your location and our towers and that helps us make an educated decision about your eligibility for service.
